SAMPLE OF WORK
(Educational)

EARLY NUMERACY | GRADED B+

Ice-Cream V.S. Monsters

To educate children aged 4 to 5 year old about the concept of "more than" and "less than", my group and I created a board game titled "Ice-Cream V.S. Monsters", to be played with 2 to 4 players.

For this project, I was responsible to create the storage box, and to design the overall look of the board and to make it into a reality.

Through this project, I was able to apply my knowledge of learning through play.

EFFECTIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN | GRADED B+

For this module, I chose to create a resource set, not bigger than 15cm, for children aged 6 to 12 months. Hence, I created a sensorial touch book, to allow children to explore the different textures of the world in a safe way.

The main material of the book is made using felt, with a special material for the children to explore in each page. Buttons, fur, rice grains, mirror, and Velcro.

Through this project, I applied my knowledge of learning with sensorial and concrete materials.

WORKING WITH THE EXCEPTIONAL CHILD | GRADED B

Sand Tracing

As a group, we were tasked to create a resource set for a child with disabilities. Hence, we came up with sand tracing to capture the attention of the child, to ensure that the child learns how to trace words.

Our activity is made for 3 to 4 year old, with the sand made out of crushed biscuit to ensure that nothing will happen to the child if he/she happens to swallow it.

Through this, I was able to apply my knowledge of learning through sensorial activities

LANGUAGE & LITERACY | GRADED B+

As a group of 4, we were tasked to create 4 different resources to be placed in the learning corners to help children aged 4 to 5 year old work on the language & literacy skills.

With that, I made a child-size taxi out of cardboard, to be placed in the dramatic corner for children to engage in role play. Accessories such as fake money and a hired sign were also made for children to be able to have a full on conversation while role-playing as a diver and passenger.

LANGUAGE & LITERACY | GRADED B

To help me bring my story to life, I created a puppet based off the book, "The Sleep Monster", to conduct a story reading session with children aged 12 to 18 months.

Additionally, I also created the bed from the story to illustrate that the monster is sleeping.

Through this project, I was able to apply my knowledge of the different types of play. which in this case, I applied active and enjoyable play. On top of that, I was able to create a 3-dimensional aspect of the props to help children visualize the actions made by the character.
